I WRITE TO

I write to remember,
I write to forget,
I write to understand
pain in life.
To feel the pity
for the poor,
victims oppressed,
the old, a burden to all.

I write to survive
in this world of mockery and disdain.

I write to feel love,
for women,
children,
men,
alike.

I write to cross the river of life,
to see the other shore,
past obstacles, boulders
and waterfalls.

I write to
see paradise ahead of me,
where beauty and happiness is all.

DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT

DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT
DYLAN THOMAS

FUNERAL BLUES W.H.AUDEN

STOP ALL THE CLOCKS
Stop all the clocks,cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin,let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message HE is DEAD,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North,my South,my East and West,
My morning week and my Sunday rest,
My noon,my midnight,my talk,my song;
I thought that love would last forever:I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now:put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweeop up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

AH! SUNFLOWER
SOME THOUGHTS ON THE POEM

AH! SUNFLOWER

Ah! Sunflower,weary of time
Who countest the steps of the sun,
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the traveller's journey is done.
Where the Youth pined away with desire,
And the pale Virgin shrouded in snow,
Arise from their graves and aspire
Where my Sunflower wishes to go!

MY FAVOURITE POEMS

Auguries of Innocence

By William Blake

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an Hour.

Read these wonderful lines and reflect on them
