DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT
DYLAN THOMAS
THE ART AND LOVE OF POETRY
Welcome to my poetry blog.Read,appreciate and comment on the poems of then and now.Feel this sensuous medium of expression.Delight in pure colour and line,bare auditory quality and sheer rhythm.Sense the release of illustrative imagery,the portrayal of emotion,the imitation of nature and of human life,the intimation of spiritual truth.
I hope you enjoy the poems and grow with them
I hope you enjoy the poems and grow with them

FUNERAL BLUES W.H.AUDEN

STOP ALL THE CLOCKS
Stop all the clocks,cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin,let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message HE is DEAD,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North,my South,my East and West,
My morning week and my Sunday rest,
My noon,my midnight,my talk,my song;
I thought that love would last forever:I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now:put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweeop up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

AH! SUNFLOWER
MY FAVOURITE POEMS
THE MIRROR'S EYE

THE MIRROR'S EYE
I am the mark on the wall
The multifaceted man
Iam she and he and them
Illusion of existence
Cold crystal body
Luminous lonely shadow
Blind eye
Dark vision that sees
Multicoloured beauty of
Impenetrable images and shapes
I am the winding labyrinth of the soul
Stamped by pain and joy
Enamoured of your nakedness.
My eyes sometimes lie but are there
In the marks of your being
In the arms that have caressed and savoured you
The invisible man in you.
